Obsidian isn’t technically a crystal at all — it’s volcanic glass, born the moment lava meets air and cools too fast to form a structure. Ancient people knapped it into mirrors and blades; modern witches keep it for the same two jobs: seeing clearly and cutting cords.
It’s traditionally associated with protection, honest reflection, and releasing what no longer serves you. I add a little to Tranquil Waters because true calm needs a guardian at the gate.
Caring for your obsidian
☾ Water-safe and sturdy, but it IS glass — it can chip if dropped on tile. Cleanse with smoke or sound.
