Crystals by Chakra

The chakra system — from ancient Indian tradition — maps seven energy centers along the spine, each with its own color, focus, and (in crystal folklore) its own family of stones. You don't need to adopt the whole cosmology to find it useful: think of it as a beautifully old way of asking "where in my life needs tending?" and matching a stone to the answer.

Root · Muladhara

Safety, stability, belonging

The foundation — where "I am safe" lives. When the root is tended you feel steady, housed in your own body, and hard to knock over.

  • Smoky Quartz — the gentle bodyguard of the crystal world
  • Obsidian — volcanic glass with strong boundaries

Sacral · Svadhisthana

Creativity, pleasure, feeling

The wellspring of creativity and joy — the chakra of making things and savoring things. Ember-warm stones are its traditional companions.

  • Carnelian — an ember you can keep in your pocket
  • Moonstone — a sliver of moonlight that stayed

Solar Plexus · Manipura

Confidence, will, personal power

Your inner sun — the seat of "I can." Golden stones have always gathered here, feeding courage and follow-through.

Heart · Anahata

Love, compassion, connection

The bridge between body and spirit — love given, received, and (hardest of all) turned inward. Green stones are its garden.

  • Moss Agate — the gardener’s stone — quiet growth, deep roots
  • Green Aventurine — the luckiest stone on the shelf
  • Epidote — the forest-green stone of becoming more

Throat · Vishuddha

Voice, truth, expression

Where your truth becomes words. Sky-and-sea blue stones are traditionally kept here, for speaking honestly and gently — including to yourself.

Third Eye · Ajna

Intuition, insight, imagination

The quiet knowing behind the eyes. Stones with hidden fire suit it best — gray until the light moves, then suddenly aurora.

  • Labradorite — gray until it isn’t — then it’s the northern lights

Crown · Sahasrara

Connection, clarity, spirit

The open window at the top of the ladder — connection to whatever you call the bigger thing. Clear and moonlit stones live here.

A gentle reminder from the counter: chakra work is tradition and intention, not medicine. If something in your body or mind needs care, crystals make lovely companions to help — never substitutes for it.
